tirsdendreams: (redefinition of me)
I think I was either playing a video game or watching something on TV, and it was getting into WWII history stuff... either whatever I was doing, or the conversation around me. Then on the TV screen was a guy in a Nazi uniform throwing a torch at something. A moment later I became that guy who'd thrown the torch, and I think at first I might have been Karl (one of my roleplay chars inspired by Karl Kroenen from Hellboy)... but shortly thereafter I was one of the men on his squad instead. Mind you, this was pretty much with the complete mindset of a Nazi SS agent/soldier.

What we were throwing torches at was some long wooden building, and it was daylight and wartime. I think I realized the thing was going to blow up and I told everybody to run and started booking it across the field surrounding that side of the building. The whole thing did blow, and the shockwave was so strong it threw me several feet and I landed tumbling. I stayed lying down for the moment and put my arms over my head trying to protect it. Stuff was raining out of the sky from the explosion and some did hit me on the head just as I was trying to cover it, but not too badly.

I'm not exactly sure what happened next, but I do know I got up and got further away, and I was looking for Karl and couldn't find him. There was some nonsense about a train and some nurse lady who I asked if she knew where Karl was and she kept saying other stuff so I asked again and she said yes. I followed her quite a ways to some building and up into it several floors. I kept looking around and didn't see him, and the place didn't look right at all. It looked like a doctor's office, and around this point dream logic decided I was in a hospital.

Getting frustrated, I asked the nurse again where he was. She said, "There," and pointed to a hat that would work for the uniform I was wearing. Supposedly it was my hat, she thus informed me (*shrug* dream logic strikes again, it could have been; I wasn't impressed even if it was). I said something to the effect of, "No, you moron, I asked you where my Commander is!"

Then my alarm clock woke me up.

(Stefan Richter, the roleplay version, actually belongs to Stefan. The early-1800's version is a very much alternate-universed character, the original being Lord Recluse from the MMORPG City of Villains.)

First off I was myself at a play, watching in the audience. It was a sort of high-school production it seemed, and the play was set in a very upperclass London home or palace around the late 1700's (think big wigs, tons of lace, and foppish guys). Then towards what seemed like the end of the play, I was lounging around near the stage, and the spotlight turned to me. I was now one of the actors in the play, and fully dressed up as an older woman, the matriarch of the play's family.

I got up and made my way to the head of the dinner table, since it was mealtime in the story. I was playing this very overdone and overbearing character, and I remember two of the other characters messing up their lines a bit. We went with it though, and the audience really seemed to be getting into things.

Then it wasn't a play any longer (nor was it dinner time but definitely evening), and I was actually this matriarch character in an upscale London home. I was greeting guests at the door, highbrow women and at least one of them had the hopes of marrying my son, Stefan (more on that in a minute). I remember either calling for him or sending a servant to fetch him, and he arrived just as my point of view changed to one of the hopeful-ladies who was actually pretty damn ugly but haughty in all her finery.

So now I'm ugly-chick being led upstairs into a better sitting room for this occasion... and then it seems like I wandered off a bit. The character was changing again, looks and attitude becoming more like someone I'd rather be if I was a girl stuck in this sort of situation (a bit more like my character Shane who in the roleplay universe for this version of Stefan, schemed up a way to get back at both their socialite parents by basically marrying under false pretenses... as both had no true interest in marriage and have very devout relationships with their own lovers).

I found a room where it seemed like Stefan must have been before he was summoned. There was a cheery fire going in a white marble fireplace and a small writing surface on the floor with a letter or document being written and a book open beside it. I think at this point Stefan showed up, having escaped the more social engagement, but I don't remember what he said. He didn't seem to mind that I was there.

Then I became him, and I was alone in the room, glad to have gotten away from the stupidity in the sitting room.

Then I woke up.

(Definitely inspired by reading The Exorcist cover-to-cover yesterday.)

I know there was more to this dream, but I remember looking up the stairs (at what I imagined the house in The Exorcist book looked like) and saw twin girls who I knew were demon possessed. I remember being afraid because they were loose, not trapped in their room. They both looked like Alessa from Silent Hill, and they talked and moved in unison. I ran out the front door and so did two other people, a couple who I think might have been the parents of the girls, or housekeepers. We all got in the car and drove off, and I remember feeling so glad we had escaped. As we left the area we felt better and better, as if the evil was centered in the house and we'd thoroughly escaped it.

We came back some time later, I'm not really sure how long it had been (not all that long but probably more than a day or two). The house had burned to the ground and it seemed like the evil had been destroyed. There was a deep pit where the house had been, apparently there had been a major basement area when the house was still standing. There were some bits of wall left and a couple of stone chimney remains that went all the way down to the basement floor which was now dirt.

I was thinking everything else had been destroyed, then I saw people down by the chimneys. I thought at first they were looking for evidence or something, then I realized there were tall bookshelves down there that looked undamaged, and books in the shelves. Big tomes, philosophy or encyclopedia type hardbacks. I realized someone was selling them in an impromptu yard sale... and I think I went down there and looked at one of the books...

I don't remember the rest.

(Shane is my original character created for a bad-fanfiction-waiting-to-happen based on the universe of the movie The Chronicles of Riddick. Shane is Richard B. Riddick's daughter and looks about 12 years old.)

I started this dream as Riddick, let loose in a large prison environment containing some sort of haphazard structure in the center of a gargantuan "room" that had a dirt floor and extremely sparse plants scattered around, almost like an enclosed biosphere, except square and surrounded by walls and a ceiling. I was closest to the central structure so I climbed to the top, killing everyone on the way, and becoming "king of the hill." More prisoners were drawn to the fracas and were going to attempt to take me out.

Then the powers that be released zombies into the grounds. As Riddick found his own way to escape, I became Shane who was busy running from zombie death. Toombs was right behind her, apparently the bounty hunter had managed to land himself a prison sentence. I ran to the nearest edge of the building (it felt like the east side) and saw a hose in the corner (south-east side). I turned it on and was quite happy to see it actually worked at all. It worked well, and I was able to fend off some zombies with the jet of water as they didn't like it for some reason.

There was a line of windows above me, and I could see that the closest one was open but not normally reachable by one person (great prison security, eh?). Toombs was asking how anything I was doing was helping either of us get out as I wrapped the end of the hose around my waist. I told him to watch me and do what I did after I got up to the window. I turned the water on real hard, and the force of the water in the hose lifted me up. I was able to guide the direction in which the hose lifted me and was soon up on the window ledge. Toombs turned the water down enough that I could throw him the hose, and then had some trouble getting the hose concept to work for himself until he realized he was heavier than I was, and needed to turn the water up higher.

Meanwhile I jumped out of the window, a little afraid I might hurt myself on the way down but at this point it was better than being eaten by zombies, or staying in prison at all. I made it okay and started running away from the prison into the semi-darkness before morning. I looked back to see Toombs reach the window's edge; he was too large to fit through the gap I'd just left through, so he just kicked the whole window out and dropped to the ground to follow me.

There was a problem with the landscape now: further east was a sheer cliff going upwards that joined with a mountain range to the northeast, to the south was an impassable ravine, and to the north and west the country was flat red clay and dust with no cover for quite some distance. It would take much too long to run anywhere and surely the prison guards would recapture us out there. But to the northeast was a cave that went into the cliffside, so I headed for that even though I wasn't happy with the lack of choices. I had a feeling this was the way Riddick had gone, but I couldn't see him anywhere and put that thought aside as there were more pressing matters to attend to.

At the entrance to the cave was a skeleton sitting in front of a campfire that was currently in full-flamey-swing. The formerly-living looked as if it had starved to death or something, and in its bony fingers it held a tea candle in a candle holder. The candle was lit (yet its owner was long dead, go figure) and now I became Toombs as Shane took the candle and ventured into the cave ahead of me. It was a poor light source but better than nothing, as I had a feeling we'd need it (I somehow knew there might be light-fearing aliens on this planet like the ones in the movie Pitch Black).

The spaces we crawled through were rather cramped, and in a larger area the ceiling was still so low that Shane had to duck. She stopped for a moment, and I warned her just in time before she moved again; I grabbed her shoulder, there was a flock of those nasty tiny creatures right over her head. She ducked further to avoid them, as somehow they hadn't noticed us (yay alien sleep?) and we entered another room barely larger than the last.

Here there were two dog-like creatures, each about the size of a large housecat. We both knew they were vicious, insane creatures who would eat anything that wasn't one of them. I became Shane again (which put me closer to the dogs), and at this point we couldn't turn back so I pressed forward, slowly, trying to exude the feeling that I belonged here, that I was actually one of the crazy doggies and everything was cool. The problem was, they'd acquired a large chunk of meat that was some poor hapless thing's former body. It was in the way, considering the two dogs were on either side of it. And on the far side was the exit from the cave, I could see daylight beyond.

One of the dogs was snoozing while the other munched half-asleep on the body. All I could really do was move into the corpse, and unfortunately the end that moved was the end the awake-dog was eating. The dog whined in sleepy annoyance and I tried to make generic "I belong here too, hello doggy family" noises. Amazingly, this worked, and I was able to get past the dogs with Toombs following right behind.

It was a massive relief to get out of the caves finally, and we found ourselves in a small, meandering canyon of the red clay stuff prevalent to the area.

Then the dream logic bailed on me and I'm not gonna get into the rest.
