Ron received a letter one day from the infamous Harry Potter. It was in a rather large envelope (bigger than a manilla one) and when he took it out, what he held between his hands wasn't... there? No, there was a shimmer a couple of times, a magical, almost science-fictionish ripple in space where a large piece of paper could be.
Then the thing faded into existance, and ended up a solid sheet of what looked like clear plastic. The words were written or etched on it in white, and dominating the top half of the sheet was a picture we'll get to in a moment. But Ron was reading the letter, it had a lot of odd wizard slang that Ron had never heard of and made it much harder to comprehend the meaning of the letter. But it sounded like fun, and the gist of it was this: Harry was going to come pick Ron up so he could go shopping and prepare for his first year at Hogwarts. Apparently this was all old-hat to Harry.
Now, the picture mentioned before was of a teenager with a whole lot of green, crusty spots all over his face. He was lying on his stomach on a hospital bed and all you could really see was his face and a little of one arm. The caption said the name of the boy (a friend of Harry's) and that he was suffering from a disease that made him constantly sad and hopeless. The name of the disease was there, it was something like Constanticus Unhappinus but that wasn't it. There was a feeling that Harry wanted Ron to help him save his buddy, and that would be their adventure for the school year. (Kinda like a preview of the plot on the back cover of a book.)
Ron put the letter back in the envelope and then his mother showed up. He wanted to show her the letter, he was all excited and his mother was finding his words very hard to believe. But when he pulled the letter out, it was just folded up lined paper. He tried putting it back in, and believing very hard that it was the magical letter he'd first seen, but again it came out just as paper. Ron's mother told him to stop making stuff up and left.
Meanwhile, Ron's friend/sister? (in the dream, a combination of both Jinny and Hermione, we'll call her Jinny anyways) was looking through the contents of the envelope. She looked at the picture which was now seperate (stupid dream logic) and the picture had changed to a much darker, black and white portrait of a man with a lot of black hair partly hiding his head with his arms. Ron was saying something like, "You don't believe me either, do you? Maybe it wasn't real, maybe I dreamed it all or something." But Jinny was looking very hard at the picture, and kept putting her finger on it in one place. "No," she said, "It's real, look at this, it's magic!" Ron looked closer at the picture and saw something he hadn't noticed before... it was moving! It was a magical wizarding picture! Which meant everything else was real too.
I don't remember anymore.
