All I remember now was a black guy who I knew (in the dream, not outside of it, go fig) taking things out of a box that let you have anything you wanted. They were small, kinda normal-ish things that a person might wish for who was into electronic gadgets. The opening at the top of the box wasn't real big either, as logic was failing hard.
I looked at the box and thought, "hey, wait a minute," and reached in and pulled out none other than... Vin Diesel! It was a bit of a tight squeeze and he seemed kinda out of it. He was okay with it too though, as apparently getting pulled out of a magic box is a life-changing experience.
Then I woke up. Dammit.

Then I woke up. Dammit.
The first dream was rather long and I barely remember any of it, but it involved zombies who passed on their disease by biting. They could also make zombies out of animals, and although the animal bites didn't make the disease contagious to a person, they were vicious and obviously getting any sort of injury doesn't help one's cause in staying un-zombified. For part of the dream I was indoors and I think underground, which was bad because zombies did better in the dark. The end of it had me and a guy who would be like the main or almost-main character in a movie (if I were the main) outside in the sunlight, with some kind of supposedly-protective circle of branches around us.
The circle was probably a good thirty or forty feet wide, so there was a good amount of room to move, and I think there was only one zombie beyond the circle at the moment but there were a lot more animals. I remember specifically a squirrel or two, and one of them managed to get into the circle and bite me on the back of my right hand (OW yes it definitely very much hurt). There was a third guy with us I think, and I was yelling at him that this circle thing wasn't keeping the bad crap out like it was supposed to and realized right around then that he'd been zombified just now. The whole thing was going to hell and I'm not really sure how it ended, but I woke up really scared and realized it had been the first nightmare of that type I'd had in quite a while (the typical scary-nightmare or horror-movie inspired thing). I was disappointed I'd gone through the whole thing without realizing it was a dream, because if I had, I could have woken myself up.
Well, I went back to sleep because I was way too tired to get up. I went almost immediately back to dreaming. I was in my (randomly dream-created) house, with my (randomly dream-created) boyfriend and family, and it was night time. I was afraid the zombies would attack, as if part of the old dream had carried on to this new dream. Suddenly my boyfriend revealed that he was one, and I ran out of the house. I remember very little of this dream and I wish I could because I'm pretty sure it was epic-scale. I eventually met up with a slightly overweight middle-age lady with a kindly face and medium-length, kinda-curly brown hair. She knew who I was, and told me that I was very important to stopping the evil.
I think I was telling her about what had happened so far, and as I was going over the beginning, the dream sort of flowed into my narrative and thus ended and started to repeat. This time I was back in my house at night where I'd started (though the house had changed) and my boyfriend was there again with my family. I think I was telling them about the first dream, as if I'd just had it or something, and I told them we needed to lock the doors and windows to make sure the zombies didn't get in because I didn't think it was just a dream. Then one of the zombies I recognized came to the front door, I could see him, and as I was freaking out I began to realize my family and boyfriend were all zombies and they were saying something like "she's not ready yet."
I'm not sure what happened to the zombie outside (I think they let him in) but he wasn't out there anymore and I ran outside to get away from them all. I ran left along the sidewalk and I remember thinking it was important I stay under the stars. I looked up and saw what looked like a yellow glow-in-the-dark sword-shaped mouse pointer in the sky pointing to a specific star, so I ran that direction (which was sort of the way I was already going, to my right a little but for the moment I was staying on the sidewalk instead of crossing the street).
An expensive black luxury sedan that I think was a BMW suddenly seemed to be swerving at me or chasing me, so I had to change directions. I silently begged the sky for more help and saw the sword was now on a star further to my left now and right on the horizon, leading me onto grass to my left that dipped down a hill and into some forest and stuff. I was still near the top of the hill as the car stopped and two black people got out, a guy and a girl, dressed nicely and I remember the guy had very short hair.
They asked me what the heck my problem was, and I forget what reason they were actually there but I begged them for a ride. They asked me where I wanted to go and I forget where I said (San Paulo?) and they were cool with that. So I got in the back seat of the car which was now for some reason a convertible, and I had a pillow in my arms when we drove right back past my house so I hugged it and looked away from the house hoping they wouldn't recognize me but at this point I knew I had red hair and I had a bad feeling they would... but we weren't chased immediately. There didn't seem to be anybody at all outside the house as I peeked back at it when we'd gone past.
The couple said they had to make a stop, which was uncomfortably only a few blocks from my house up a side street, but I had barely started telling them about the zombies and I don't think they believed me. The lady they met was going to give them some food they'd ordered, I think they'd found her through some kind of internet service. It was the lady who I had met in the first dream, the one who said I was important, but all I knew now was that she was somehow important, I just couldn't remember why. We were all out of the car as she gave the people their food, and then asked me, "Do I know you from somewhere?"
I answered something about not being sure, and she asked me what my name was. I said, "Shane..." and then it was like it was really hard to remember my last name, it was like I knew the one I had was wrong, and that there was another name I was supposed to be known by. So finally I got it out, "...Dawson" (ahahaha my brain must be taking inspiration from YouTube, even if I have wanted the name Shane for years before running across Shane Dawson). She was sort of looking at me a little funny, like she might be figuring something out, but the other people were saying we had to go now so I left with them.
A few blocks later we suddenly got rammed from behind by another car (and now our car was back to being a sedan). The guy driving finally believed about the zombies, and was wondering how they'd found us so fast. There was some dream illogic behind my response ("They're editing the video!" as if there had been video footage of us going by, and access to fully processed video feed for editing meant they... somehow had all the information they needed) and now it was a car chase.
As if this were a bad Ed Wood movie, we found ourselves in heavy city traffic in broad daylight a few moments later. The zombie car was still too close behind and now they had a large, odd tractor thing on their side as well. I kept telling the driver he needed a wide open road, this kind of car should be able to go really fast and this was totally the wrong area to try and escape in. The girlfriend of the guy agreed with me, and even suggested it might be better if I took a cab instead as those guys could drive fast.
I think we heard on the radio or something that there was an actual ghostbusting service being advertised. I asked the people if they knew about that, they didn't really but the girl drug out a phone book and handed it to me, it was supposed to be the White Pages or something, and she apologized saying it might be harder to find in there. She also gave me her cell phone to borrow, and I dialed 911 while I was looking through the book trying to figure out what the heck section ghostbusting would be under. The operator wasn't honestly sure she believed what I was trying to tell her about the zombies and all, and was fairly sure she couldn't help me. The last thing I asked her was if she had any guesses as to where the ghostbusting number would be, and she said to try the services section. Conveniently, there was such a section, and it wasn't huge.
In that section of the phone book (which was difficult to read because reading is often difficult in dreams), I finally found a page with spiritual services, a lot of occult-related stuff though too much of it seemed like it was places that just sold stuff and had fun-houses and maybe palm readings or fortune tellers if lucky. Still, that had potential and an ad I saw for a place was one I wanted to go to but wasn't sure how to get there, and was about to mention it. The girl suddenly tried handing me a very slim "phone book" that she said was the Yellow Pages with a warm, triumphant smile like it was way more what I needed... but I still wanted to go to the place where the ad was and was about to ask again.
I noticed the shops in the area we were in were a lot like the section of the phone book I'd been looking in. Then the guy said something like, "What about this place?" and suddenly he was pulled over right by that one shop I'd seen the ad for, and in the window there was a sign for "Horror House" though the windows hadn't been cleaned in a while and the whole neighborhood looked really dumpy.
Well, it was the place I wanted to go and we were sitting ducks with the zombies still too close though it seems like we'd temporarily lost them. I said sure I'd go in and begged them to please stay and wait for me in case I had to run out fast again. I grabbed Teddy (my actual teddy bear) who for some reason was in the car as if he'd been with me the whole time, but I left my purse with them as if it was somehow safer to do so (??) and also left the door open even with the zombie threat because I was that worried I'd have to run right back into the car. Also, right around this time there was another person in the back seat of the car, an Asian young lady who the dream plot just sort of threw in like she'd always been there was well.
When outside the store before this conversation, I'd seen some of the employees through the window. Now as I went into the store, the layout changed (baaad dream logic, bad) and also I no longer remember having Teddy (baaad dream edit? lol). I sort of recognized the employees (a guy and a girl in toned-down punky haircuts and stuff) and well it was the same kind of store so I just went with it. I walked past the main customers and those two employees, feeling that the help I wanted wasn't in that area, and I would know the right kind of person when I saw them... if they were there at all.
I saw a lady behind a different counter, she was older and I think she had longish light-colored hair. I could see in her eyes that she held wisdom and knowledge of the sort I was looking for, or something very close to it, so I walked up to her and said I needed help. I forget exactly how I phrased it, possibly being under attack from darkness I was afraid to talk about in public, but at the end I said, "and I'm not looking for help from 'god'" and I even used air quotes.
She nodded, seeming to understand, and then I realized she had totally vanished while I'd... stood there staring for a moment? The Asian girl from the car was now with me (she'd come to check on me I think) and I said, "Wow, she's good." I knew the older lady was going to either talk to someone before talking to me again, or was fetching someone else... possibly because she'd told me. I forget.
It was only a moment or two later that a short, elderly Asian woman walked out from a back room and guided me to go sit nearby with her on a sort of round booth-like seat without a table. I sat down with her and the other girl who was with me, and started telling her about the zombies. I really don't remember what all I said, but this all seemed to make sense to her and she was saying something back to me, I'm not sure what, but as she did so her eyes started looking past me. I looked behind me, back the way I had come, and the area there was totally obscured by almost living darkness.
The old lady got up yelling some kind of curse or something at it (I forget, words of banishment probably) and stretched out her hand. From it came a yellow-white stream of magic with a thick orange-red cord through the middle of it, and it made a long line as it struck into the darkness. A male voice said something from inside the darkness, I don't remember what it was but probably something about the futility of her standing against him. Then I could see a man in the darkness there, and I knew it was one of the zombies, but now it was like I also knew they were actually vampires. Could be that was part of the dialogue, I wish I could remember it better.
The man countered the magic with his own power (which I don't remember what it looked like), and the lady shriveled up and fell backwards, dead. The other girl by me tried to get in his way as well and I think she also either died or got zapped into unconsciousness. Then I was on the floor as well, passing out because he'd hit me with some of that power next, and as everything went dark I heard the voice of Vampire Hunter D asking a very short question. Sadly, I can't remember the question now, though I do believe it had to do with asking where I had vanished to. I realized that perhaps I had disappeared off the floor completely, perhaps with my female friend too, and maybe the lady who I had seen in the previous dream had done it? Perhaps all hope was not yet lost?
But I wouldn't find out, because then I woke up.
The circle was probably a good thirty or forty feet wide, so there was a good amount of room to move, and I think there was only one zombie beyond the circle at the moment but there were a lot more animals. I think what happened is this dream merged from something unrelated, because the first thing I remember is arriving in a hallway with President Obama. It was at an airport somewhere and he was going to catch a plane. His family was ahead of him, he'd stopped to make a comment to a reporter or something. For some reason it was really dark in the hallway, and it was nighttime. I appeared out of nowhere, literally, as it seems I could move really fast and also turn invisible (also possibly move through walls, not sure on that though). It seems I'd done this before, as I was talking to Obama like we knew each other.
As he went out the door to outside where the plane was and I followed him, I said something like, "So the Secret Service is okay with this?" There was a member of said service nearby (hmm, dream logic fail, there should have been more security). Obama said something like, "Yeah, they're fine with it." He himself didn't seem to be phased by it at all, mister easygoing as usual. I don't think I even knew how I'd gotten my powers, or if they were some sort of magic, and as far as I knew I was the only one with abilities like that.
But all I was really thinking was that I was just happy I was getting to hang out with Obama, and was looking forward to spending some time with the family as well. We were now walking along the tarmac and still not as far ahead as the others. I looked up at the night sky and it looked like there were moving swirly symmetrical patterns glowing in the sky. I wasn't sure exactly how that was being pulled off, because it didn't seem like there were clouds... or the clouds were very thin. I pointed the display out to the president, and we stood there trying to figure out what it was. I remember venturing the theory of aliens, mostly because I wanted it to be true.
In the end though, it was some kind of show being put on, possibly for the president but being as nobody had called our attention to it without me going "hey looky sky"... who knows. There was music sync'd up to the show now, and a huge equalizer display in different colored light bars attached to the building on the far side of the tarmac. I don't remember the musical piece now.
Then the dream went decidedly less cool and only semi-related and I'm not gonna get into that.

Doll magic
Mar. 22nd, 2009 11:58 pmI dreamed I was a little girl, not myself but some other girl, in a vaguely steampunk setting. I had a life-size doll, it looked like a teenage girl and was dressed in a lot of black, Victorian style. I tried to make her come to life (I don't remember how anymore) and it worked. The doll, however, seemed to recognize someone on the street when I took her for a walk. The stranger was a woman with long, dark hair and a big black bow in it. I changed perspectives to the doll, who really felt like she had to figure out why it was she knew this woman.
Then I woke up.
Then I woke up.
I met Vin Diesel at a basketball game
Feb. 14th, 2009 06:16 pmThis dream made so very little sense I won't get into some of the details, plus some parts I'd rather forget, but at one point I was on a basketball court where a bunch of people were meeting each other during a break in a basketball game (half time? I have no idea). One of these people happened to be Vin Diesel, and as I remember... we were introduced and of all things ended up discussing shoes. I had finally gotten new shoes (something I need to do in real life, the combat boots I tried to order ended up discontinued by the manufacturers, argh!!!) and I liked them but I remember wondering something along the lines of how comfortable they'd be once my feet decided for sure if they liked them or not.
Anyways, other than the topic of my shoes I seriously don't know what else we talked about, though the concept of dating came up, I just can't remember the context. I think my own personal wishes were clashing with the non-logic of the dream and making the subconscious mess even more confusing. Then I think he went on to talk to someone else or something and my kid brother needed my help with something, leading me off the court.
There were more children near the wall beyond the sideline, they'd been playing there for a while. It turns out one of them was climbing too high along a wall and nobody else was paying attention beyond the kids, so there I was trying to tell someone to go get more help and the daredevil kid to get down or not to jump (cuz he'd definitely hurt himself) and he had this wild look in his eye that said he was thinking about it anyways. I stayed right below him thinking I could catch him if he did jump without either of us getting hurt badly... maybe... and then suddenly he completely vanished.
I knew he'd just materialized over in a dark room just off the basketball gym (don't ask me how) so I snuck over there in the ensuing confusion to ask him how he'd done that. I knew it was some kind of magic, it had to be, and I wanted to learn to do it too. He said he could unlock it in me or something like that, and would show me how. I agreed to this, and then the logic really fell apart so I'm just gonna skip the rest.
Eventually I woke up.

Zombieszombieszombies
Feb. 8th, 2009 07:08 pmThe beginning of this dream involved running around a hospital in which most of the people had been turned into zombies for unknown reasons. They were slower than the humans but stronger (and waaaaay more of them). Those of us who were still not-undead were trying to get everyone who was still living together, and I remember attacking a zombie with a wooden pencil and literally having an argument with it as to the fact that a wood pencil stabbed into the heart should kill it. (Dream logic forgot that this applies only to vampires.) I won the argument, the zombie died.
At one point I was alone again running from zombies who seemed a lot smarter than they should have. I could hear one of them off in the distance sort of calling out to me that he'd find me. (Most of the zombies just did the typical horror movie "raaaaaaaaaar" or whatever.)
I found myself in an empty room that had cupboards up high and I remember trying to see if I could crawl up into a cupboard as some of them seemed to open up into the ceiling-works, or I could at least maybe hide until the zombies went away. I'm not sure if this succeeded or not because the next thing I remember was arriving in the hospital lobby where the survivors were all holed up defending one spot and actually managing to hold it.
I joined the group and after a while things calmed down enough that I said some of us who knew the local area should try and go out and scavenge for things like food and weapons. I told them that everyone should at least go in pairs, and to not let each other out of their sight. I even said if the other person had to go to the bathroom their partner should stay right in the bathroom with them and plug their ears and go "LALALALALALA!" (*snicker*) ....yeah... well it was smart advice for zombie-land at any rate, if rather goofball.
There were restaurants and stores sorta near the hospital, as well as some of our homes. I went to my house with a guy and his son (the house was nothing like anywhere I've ever lived in real life). As I was looking for useful things, I turned around and saw that the son was going zombie. The father was freaking out and the son appeared to be attacking him with some kinda weird black magical bits that flew out of his eyes. I told the guy to run for it but he didn't, he seemed upset he was losing his son and I told him there wasn't anything that could be done, if he wanted to live through this himself he had to bail!
Well, he was still not listening so I ran, managed to snag a bag full of large kosher crackers in the kitchen and ran out the front door. I hadn't had time to get much else of use (I don't think I even snagged any knives in the kitchen either, faaaail). Some blonde guy who's outfit and convertible car screamed California was pulling up in the driveway, he seemed a bit lost. He also had a little girl with him in the passenger seat (there was no back seat, the font seat was all one long seat).
I asked him for a ride, meanwhile he was looking for directions and I realized he wasn't local. I said, "You mean it hasn't spread past our town yet?" And he was like, "What are you talking about?" I told him something bad was happening, people turning into zombies, and I needed to get back to the hospital fast; I could show him where to drop me off because it was close by and then he should get the heck out of Dodge.
I could tell he wasn't sure he could trust me but he had his daughter move over into the middle so I could get in, then we were driving along the main drag (that had a lot of traffic... that I knew came from out of town and just happened to come straight through and continue on). I pointed out miscellaneous zombie and people corpses and then mentioned I'd been fighting them. Suddenly he really wasn't sure he should have let me into the car, I could tell by the look on his face. I told him not to worry, and to please just go right ahead and drive up the sidewalk that led to the hospital main doors (it went in from the road a bit).
He did, and several zombies started chasing us. They were fast enough that they were really close to the car and I couldn't get out and make it to the door. I told him to drive circles, and he managed to get the brainless things to keep chasing the car but they were a little slower than it, so before long there was space enough for me to make a run for it. I made it in through the doors and as far as I know the guy drove off like a bat out of hell.
Meanwhile I reached my impromptu buddies still holed up in the lobby in the middle of another attack. I told them the virus or whatever it was that was making these zombies hadn't seemed to have spread beyond our town yet, and I think we might have thought about moving locations to somewhere safer or trying to go warn the rest of civilization...
Then I woke up.

Then I woke up.
"Are you crazy too?"
Feb. 7th, 2009 08:10 pmIt started with thinking I'd woken up from the previous dream. I was in my bed in my place except it in no way resembled my real bed/place (yet my brain was convinced it was all normal). My kid sister showed up and wanted to play a complicated card game with me which at first I said I didn't know the rules to, so she said she'd teach me or show me, and then later seemed more like some sort of "magic trick." So she was dealing the cards and making piles out of them and asking me to pick a card and kept doing whatever it was she was doing. I was so out of it, I felt like I was really doped up on medication or perhaps I was still trying to hold on to the feeling of sleep.
My sister suddenly admitted as she combined most of the cards together again that it had been quite a while since she'd actually made sure all the cards were there. She dropped a card and said something like, "Oh mannnn" as it slid between the bed and the wall. I said I'd get it, and I think she said not to worry about it right away but I was determined to do it. I followed where the card had gone with my hand, then the bed was further away from the wall for some reason and I could keep following the route down to the floor which I did with my entire body. (Now that I think about it, the bed was sort of hospital-institutional with nicer bedding.) On the white-tile floor now, under the bed looking for the card (which was nowhere to be seen) and then I saw a length of thin chain (larger than necklace chain but smaller than the sort of chain you'd chain a gate closed with... the individual, round links might have been about 1/4 inch in diameter or maybe a touch bigger).
I wanted the chain, and I remember my sister saying something that I should leave it alone or get back to what she was showing me but I didn't care. There were other bits of chain too, two of them but in the end I stuck with the original one. It was at least two feet long and one end had a clasp, like a basic round jewelry clasp except larger, the same size as the links. I was out from under the bed by now and made the chain go around my right ankle, securing it there with the clasp and letting the other end trail. For the moment I let it drag on the floor and left the room, going out into the hallway. I don't really remember the hallway very well except that it was long and there were other doors leading into it, like a dorm floor or perhaps a hospital. There was a lot of white. I think one reason I'm having trouble remembering is because at this point I realized I was dreaming and I wanted to make the dream interesting.
I had been looking left down the hall but now I went right, starting to run a bit, holding on to the end of the chain so it wouldn't trip me. I wanted to get away, I wanted to escape, I didn't want to be here anymore, and I was thinking it's because I'm crazy and I'm in an asylum but I know this place is actually evil and I have to get out! Have to run, have to try. As I was thinking this stuff trying to convince the dream to take that plot concept, I could see the hallway ahead of me literally merged into a different-color hallway, sort of dingier with some sepia-tone to it and it seems like some puke-green color. There were wheelchairs and I knew that I could run into it and the dream would change properly.
So I did, still with the chain around my ankle (which as the plot went now was something I'd been secured to my bed with and had broken). As soon as I was in the dingier hallway I was completely in the mental hospital, and it wasn't really very easy to run or think because of the medication I was on... that had failed to keep me properly in bed. Up ahead the hallway got wider before going back to normal size, and in the middle of the wide part was a room that I couldn't see any details about except that its walls were made of the same painted-over cinder blocks as the hallway walls. There was a man sitting against the hall wall on the left on almost the far side of the room-thing. I knew he was a patient too, but I remember thinking I shouldn't trust anyone in my little escape attempt and then it seems like I remember another patient who was a friend (or at least someone I kinda trusted) saying this guy was bad news... that he sided with the staff.
Then a nurse came out of where there was apparently a door on the left side of the room-thing and I panicked because I didn't want her to see me. She was going to talk to the man or something, and although I thought for sure she'd see me I managed to go to the right without her noticing. Although the hallway continued I knew I couldn't go that way at least right now, but there was a smaller hall where I had headed to the right, and there were a couple of little staff-related rooms there, one to the left and one to the right.
I was totally lost because I'd never seen these rooms before (I'm not sure I'd seen much of the hospital before). It seems like I realized there was someone on the left side, meanwhile the lady back out in the hall was heading my direction so I went into the room on the right and at this point was only really looking for somewhere to hide. It looked like a storage and equipment room, things laid out on shelves, some of which had no backs and were spaced out in the middle of the room. I kept along the right-side wall seeing that it had a nook in it in the corner (that went right again just a little) where maybe I could hide.
Diagram time! Mostly because if anybody can see what the heck I'm talking about by now, you're doing good.

---------------
The open space on the upper right is the door I came in from, and the nook is in the upper left.
When I got there I noticed that there appeared to be a door on the right side of this nook (when standing in front of it with the main room's left wall to one's left as oriented in the diagram above). It looked like a very ordinary door, a bit worn and uninteresting and painted white like the rest of the walls in the room. It wasn't locked as I opened it, but right behind was a very obviously not normal door. It was a light brown color and had no door handle. I was scared now that the nurse was going to show up any second, and I had no idea if there was some sort of special trick involved in opening the second door. I tried just pushing on it, and it actually just pushed inwards. It was almost like it was a very light piece of wood that I then had to hold onto so it didn't fall because it wasn't attached to anything. Maybe it was broken... because it had sure seemed like the first major sign of "things aren't right here in supposedly-honest asylum land."
So anyways, beyond that things were a whole lot less finished-looking, either like creepy Silent Hill mode in one of those games, or a very unfinished basement. I could hardly see, it was so dark, but I was still thinking the goddamn nurse is going to find me if I don't do something fast. For some reason I couldn't do anything about the first door I'd opened, and dream logic was failing with the second door barrier thing as it was turning into a much smaller piece of plywood. How was this supposed to help block off the doorway? Then there was a second piece, and I remember trying to prop them up one against the other in an inverted V shape and hoping that would suffice.
For some reason it did, and the doorway was completely blocked again (which makes no sense considering the two pieces of wood came up to about my waist), as if I'd just shut the first stupid door in the first place. Either way, the dream was happy to be convinced I'd succeeded at least in that step, so whatever. It was even darker now with the door properly closed, but after a moment's confused thoughts (yay meds and fear) I realized that this was a place people went and it should have lights. There was a light-switch box to the left of the door and I turned it on. I saw that the little passage I was in went to stairs downwards shortly, wooden steps that still had that very-unfinished and old look to them.
I think I then realized that having the lights on was a bad idea, as staff would guess if they showed up that someone was there that shouldn't be. So I turned them off again and moved towards the stairs. I could now see a little better as further down the steps was a large open area that was again very much like an unfinished basement. Uneven dirt floor, concrete brick walls, very high indications of perhaps windows because of little bits of light, daylight! But I knew that I wasn't that close to freedom yet. Closer, but going to those light sources wouldn't do me any good, they just helped me to see right now.
At the bottom of the stairs, to the left was some more shelving and stuff and it didn't seem like a useful way to go. The basement opened up even further to the right, so I went that way. As I was working my way along very uneven ground that looked more like I was entering the very beginnings of a subway construction sight or something, I heard people shouting behind me. They knew I was there, and also that I was quite possibly on the correct route to get out of there. I was trying to move faster, the chain still there, but as I dared glance back (even with my brain screaming don't waste the time looking back) I saw there was already a nurse about thirty feet behind me.
I kept running (or trying, I was having issues running as I seemed really tired and the air really thick) and glanced back again after another moment and I saw that the nurse was wearing red (maybe it was a different nurse, or the dream decided to change her on the fly). It was more like a fancy red dress. I had only glanced at it though, back to running, and suddenly I had a memory of someone saying the lady with the red dress was the worst possible nurse you could encounter, that if she was on your tail you had no hope. It had the feel of a hospital myth, like some people didn't believe she even existed... and yet it appeared she was now chasing me. Well, whatever, I wasn't going to give up. Another glance, oddly enough, showed the nurse's skirt was red and maybe her collar, while the rest of her outfit had turned back a more normal white.
I managed to get myself corralled into a corner finally, choosing the wrong direction to run once I got closer to the far side of the huge bizarre area. I was so close, the other way had gone to a door but meanwhile I had one very big nurse ready to sedate me. She already had the syringe in her hand and even though I begged her not to hurt me she was very determinedly going to inject me. There were a couple other nurses in her wake as well. She moved to strike and suddenly I asked her, "Are you crazy too?" and she said, "Yes." The look on her face as she said it was a brainwashed/insane but determined combination. I thought I felt pain in my neck, but then she was still holding the syringe and I was still feeling the same, not getting sleepier.
The other nurses were now standing around, and it seemed like they had sort of decided they weren't sure they wanted to be doing what they were doing anymore. They were talking about the head doctor though, and how it was pretty much impossible to cross him. I don't remember if I encouraged the thought of breaking loose, but they decided to give it a shot, and now there were other patients who had apparently followed us down here. Someone opened the door I hadn't gotten to and we all filed outside, straight out into bright, warm sunshine. We found ourselves in a little walled-off sunken area with metal steps and a catwalk leading out of it, so we followed that.
We knew we were now free, and following this path would take us to further freedom. I stopped part-way across the catwalk though. I said something like, "What about the other patients in the hospital? They don't deserve to live like that. We should try to get them out." Some people didn't want to risk their freedom by going back in there. I thought we had a chance, if we worked together, whoever wanted to go, and I did say that I understood if people didn't want to risk it, but that whoever wanted to go back in should give it a shot. Also, the dream suddenly decided that maybe some of us had Heroes-like powers. There was one teenager who looked like he could have been in My Chemical Romance the way his hair, makeup, and clothes were, and he said he had some sort of ability (I don't remember what it was). He wasn't very confident in it, sort of like a minor thing he could do as opposed to something truly impressive, but he was volunteering to go on the rescue mission if I wanted him and I definitely did. One of the nurses agreed to help, and a handful of others were thinking about it.
Then I woke up.
My sister suddenly admitted as she combined most of the cards together again that it had been quite a while since she'd actually made sure all the cards were there. She dropped a card and said something like, "Oh mannnn" as it slid between the bed and the wall.
(Old dream notes are old. I just found this again, it was written November 4th, 2008. I'm going to transcribe it pretty much the way it was originally written.)
Movie like Lethal Weapon on TV, two cops find a girl witness, drive in bad weather. (Then I was the girl in the "movie" which was now reality.) There is deep water ahead, think they can cross but it looks so deep it's blue. Car is an old large convertible with the top down. They try, and even paddle the car with hands which sorta works but the deep water just seems to keep on going.
Get near an odd obstacle and a lady appears like a vision and says we are the chosen ones, and must help her world. She summons magic into her hand (warp stuff) that coalesces into three small teardrop stones. She gives them to us, then shows putting another on her forehead and vanishes.
I do what she did and it sticks like it won't come off. The others do it too; one of the guys puts it in a spot more like where an actual teardrop might go. He did it that way so it would seem less gay (AHAHAHA!! fail). My "marker" starts burning and it hurts, and then we're transported to the new world instantaneously and together. We're standing and it's dark. We're on grounds near a forest.
The evil bad guy has seen our entry in a crystal ball (or mirror?). Tells his three-headed dog and three wolves to go destroy the intruders. What he doesn't seem to know is that I can't be harmed by animals due to being the chosen one with the right combination of inner powers and the crystal. So the dogs cower and cannot follow their master's order, though they would have instantly otherwise. The protection the girl has extends to anyone she is near. Animals who intend to harm her or anyone near her can't get anywhere near her.

fighting an evil wizard
Oct. 17th, 2008 07:44 pm(I've had these notes on a dream from back on February 19th that I keep forgetting to copy here, and since I've located them again, here we go! I'll just copy verbatim what they say being as I've forgotten a lot of this anyways. Anything I want to say on it now will be in brackets.)
talk to guy at airport
"have you checked on ______?"
jump onto train in popcorn [the tops of the cargo sections were all open, and were filled with unpopped popcorn kernels]
other people
go past farm, see giant scorpion? no, lobster
rock lobster lol [I'd had a real-life reference to that song the previous day]
get off train, I'm a princess
2 warriors, 1 archer [rest of party]
then secret tunnel right out of barn [we went into the barn after the train bit]
lobster is now a giant ogre in drag? then gone [I remember being afraid of this thing because it was throwing around large objects and had the potential to smish us all pretty darn fast if it saw us, but then it suddenly wasn't there anymore]
evil wizard lord walks around veggie garden we are hiding in
he spots me and says he should take a hostage for fun
I realize he picks me and run
he stops time on the others
I get enuff distance to "un-freeze-time" [that was literally the spellcasting words]
others still sluggish
he turns me into a tree and I fall, break arm
he turns me back human and I can't move because of arm
he forms a sled-ish magical vehicle under me and steers it off w/ me
others later at campfire, the 2 warriors are arguing
dark-haired one saying I was talking about marrying the other one as if it were a done deal (he overheard I'd had a vision?) and only because the light-haired one was a prince
prince claimed to have no idea what the other one was talking about

Orphans and happiness checks
Jul. 7th, 2007 01:09 pm(I'm writing this fast from my scrawled notes in a notebook, on a public computer, so please forgive total lack of proofreading and editing.)
I was a child in an orphanage? There was an elderly lady who ran things. We were all supposed to be in bed but I had this idea (from somewhere) that my parents had left a way for me to contact them. And it was important to do so, I knew it. I was able to get into the attic and I found a mirror and I knew this was the special thing. I sat on my knees in front of it and said, "Mommy, Daddy? It's me, [whatever my name was in the dream]." I saw faint, shadowy-ghostly images of them appear to my right and left but somewhere behind me in the mirror image. But suddenly the mirror fell over in front of me, face down, and the mirror part broke into tiny pieces.
A friend of mine (another orphan in the home) had the power to fix things. (The 4400 came to mind at this point in the dream, it's like we all had powers but I hadn't discovered mine yet and I think the whole mirror/parents thing was going to tell me that I could do magic or something... so throw in Harry Potter world references too lol). My friend fixed the mirror and more of my friends arrived, so all of our special group was there. Four or five of us I think.
This time in the mirror we saw Sean Connery, Richard Pryor, and a woman actress who I've forgotten now. We saw back and forth head shots of them, and they were dressed in fancy Victorian England style. The whole thing was lit up like bright TV too. It suddenly started raining on the people in the "show" and only right on them, you could see it was like a rain machine was on just on top of them or something. Then it started hailing too, but just on Richard Pryor who started yelling words of confused pain, and it seemed like he couldn't move to get out of the way.
I'm not sure what happened next but we went on some sort of crazy magical quest between what's best described as small, semi-nonsensicle dimensions. I remember a lady dressed a bit like a carnival magician or a dancer with a similar outfit (top hat and cane). (The cane appeared several times during the dream and as it was repeated at crucial times I started realizing there was something important about it, but didn't know what.) There was also a little blonde-haired girl that I think we were magically pulled away from before we could learn anything from her.
I was separated from the group for some reason but part of my quest involved looking into a door that was painted like a big black swirly vortex. Doing so drew me into it (think special effects for being sucked into a black hole) and I was able to travel safely through the thing via magic. It was a bit like flying, and kinda fun.
I found myself in the same room as my friends, it looked like a hallway with a whole bunch of doors. My friends had all come through at least one of those doors, and there were scary evil monsters trying to follow them, but the doors were holding for the moment.
The fixer kid did a happiness check (I was reading the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Player Handbook v3.5 last night which no doubt inspired this concept) and succeeded. It seems like every child had to do this once in their respective rooms or adventure circumstances, but we could only do it once, and I hadn't done mine yet. Anyways, fixer kid managed to get the doors to magically combine into one big set of double doors. And they were still, no monsters trying to break through.
We listened carefully and could hear the steady tap of what sounded like a cane on the floor somewhere past the doors and to the left. I figured we were on the right track and just maybe we'd find the person who was key to all this. We opened the door and all walked into the room and to the left. Here was a cozy Victorian English sitting area with couches and a highbacked upholstered chair around a round rug. There was an old lady in the chair (who looked like Grandma Wendy from "Hook") who had the cane, and a well-dressed man sitting on the couch to her right. I had a feeling we had reached the crux of our quest... the reason why we'd been taken on this ride.
The old woman stood up to talk to us and as we asked her things like why this was going on she said everything we'd seen had been manufactured purposely so we'd see what they wanted us to see. For instance, the little girl from earlier was actually a woman who had been acting from the waist up and the rest of her hidden below the floor. The old woman said something like, "In that sence, as soon as you left, the little girl Jane died."
I wanted to do a happiness check, I felt this was the room I was meant to do it in. But the old woman said it was impossible for me to do one here, due to what she had revealed. Plus, she had more to tell us...
Then I woke up.

Princess vs. dragon, film at 11
Aug. 31st, 2006 03:18 pm(This is from back in July on the Chicago trip where I had the alien dream, and I forgot to post it. Oops. Here goes.)
I was a princess, maybe with magic, in a group with others. I was closest to the knight and we were all trying to get out of a castle full of traps. The next thing I remember was that the knight had managed to take a magic sword that had some sort of ice-related power from a dragon's hoard in the middle of this castle. (The sword's hilt and lower end of the blade had some sort of magical inlay, you could see an icy power moving about in there.) The castle was mostly a big huge roundish tower shape that was partly in ruins. My own home castle was just down the road from this place.
The dragon had been away but we could hear it coming back. The knight wanted to get back to the castle fast so that the dragon wouldn't see the stolen sword. Also, the knight didn't have his horse or armor. I realized that the sword had been placed prominently and that the dragon would know right away that it had been taken. It would tear our castle and the countryside apart looking for the thing. So I grabbed the sword and made the knight stand in the middle of the road with me. He was shaking like a leaf. I had my arm around his waist to keep him from falling over. Some knight.
Anyways, I held the sword high in front of us, blade pointing to the sky. The dragon thundered into view and stopped in front of us. It was obviously pissed that we'd taken the sword. But it stooped it's head down to my level and I spoke to it in the dragon language, asking forgiveness for such a terrible transgression. The sounds I had to make were hard on my voice and not meant for humans, but the dragon understood. He wanted to know why we'd taken the sword.
I tried several reasons, from the knight wanting it to the fact that he'd won it in combat (I think a bad guy, maybe even the evil owner of the trap-filled castle, had actually taken the sword in the dragon horde first and the knight had defeated him there). But the dragon wasn't impressed. It was hard to breath and speak the dragon language with the dragon's mouth and nose in my face. Noxious fumes, let me tell you.
Then I realized I should tell the dragon about the quest the knight was going on. It was something so insanely difficult, so futile, that it was pretty much inconceivable anyone would even think of trying. Yet it seems like he had to do it and I believed we had a chance if we took this particular sword. (The quest had something to do with the frozen northlands and probably killing something super powerful but that's all I remember.) Maybe the dragon would let us borrow the sword for the quest. I believed we had to have it to succeed at all and that we would if we had it.
But I didn't get the chance to finish asking (I remember the dragon looking thoroughly shocked and pulling his head back and high up into the air, looking at me like "omgwftyoumustbekidding" as I told him the quest part) because...

Ron received a letter one day from the infamous Harry Potter. It was in a rather large envelope (bigger than a manilla one) and when he took it out, what he held between his hands wasn't... there? No, there was a shimmer a couple of times, a magical, almost science-fictionish ripple in space where a large piece of paper could be.
Then the thing faded into existance, and ended up a solid sheet of what looked like clear plastic. The words were written or etched on it in white, and dominating the top half of the sheet was a picture we'll get to in a moment. But Ron was reading the letter, it had a lot of odd wizard slang that Ron had never heard of and made it much harder to comprehend the meaning of the letter. But it sounded like fun, and the gist of it was this: Harry was going to come pick Ron up so he could go shopping and prepare for his first year at Hogwarts. Apparently this was all old-hat to Harry.
Now, the picture mentioned before was of a teenager with a whole lot of green, crusty spots all over his face. He was lying on his stomach on a hospital bed and all you could really see was his face and a little of one arm. The caption said the name of the boy (a friend of Harry's) and that he was suffering from a disease that made him constantly sad and hopeless. The name of the disease was there, it was something like Constanticus Unhappinus but that wasn't it. There was a feeling that Harry wanted Ron to help him save his buddy, and that would be their adventure for the school year. (Kinda like a preview of the plot on the back cover of a book.)
Ron put the letter back in the envelope and then his mother showed up. He wanted to show her the letter, he was all excited and his mother was finding his words very hard to believe. But when he pulled the letter out, it was just folded up lined paper. He tried putting it back in, and believing very hard that it was the magical letter he'd first seen, but again it came out just as paper. Ron's mother told him to stop making stuff up and left.
Meanwhile, Ron's friend/sister? (in the dream, a combination of both Jinny and Hermione, we'll call her Jinny anyways) was looking through the contents of the envelope. She looked at the picture which was now seperate (stupid dream logic) and the picture had changed to a much darker, black and white portrait of a man with a lot of black hair partly hiding his head with his arms. Ron was saying something like, "You don't believe me either, do you? Maybe it wasn't real, maybe I dreamed it all or something." But Jinny was looking very hard at the picture, and kept putting her finger on it in one place. "No," she said, "It's real, look at this, it's magic!" Ron looked closer at the picture and saw something he hadn't noticed before... it was moving! It was a magical wizarding picture! Which meant everything else was real too.
I don't remember anymore.

Dreaming in black and white
Feb. 26th, 2006 05:00 pmI had been dreaming of other things, but then it was like I woke up as a new character in a new setting. I was the teenage daughter of a witch and warlock who also had a mean, bratty, spoiled son younger than me. They treated me badly. But they were all asleep at the moment, it seems like it was night time at this point but since the world was so many shades of grey, it was hard to tell. It was evening, at any rate. I was supposed to be in bed.
But what mezmerized me for a few moments was that the world was black and white. I knew then that I'd probably never dreamed like this before, that I must therefore always have dreamed in color. And I was so scared I had lost that ability entirely. But at the same time it was surreal, like being in a black and white movie, but this was real. I looked at my hand and my arm, and was amazed to see my grey skin color in this black and white world.
Then my subconscious filled in some dream plot: I knew no better, this was my world, and it had always been black and white. As I wandered towards the front door I realized I had to get out of here, that I'd had enough of my parents' opression and I was going to run away from it all forever. I ran outside and down the street, and I was wearing a flowy white nightgown. As I left the boundaries of my parent's property I must have also left the sphere of their magical influence, because the evening world was suddenly alive with color. I am not sure I have ever seen anything so brilliant, especially with the background of the dream that I'd never seen color before. The sunset above the houses to my right was a dazzling orange with a touch of incredible pink. It was a very Dorothy-waking-up-in-Oz moment.
I fell backwards, lying in the street staring up at the sky, blown away. I knew vaguely that lying in the road wasn't the safest or cleanliest idea, but I really didn't care, I was so enthralled. But then I heard the sounds of a car in the distance and got up. I ran up the incline in the yard ahead of me (beneath the sunset) and fell to the grass just in time, the car going by me didn't see me. I wasn't sure about this new world, and wasn't sure what people would think of me running around in my PJs. Then I realized it was my parents' car, with them in it (and my awful brother), and they were calling out my name and saying I needed to come back home, that it wasn't safe here, stuff like that.
I kept still until they were gone and then ran across a couple more yards, a street, and up into the next yard. All the yards seemed to have this little hill up into a more average yard area. I was part-way up the hill when I heard the car again, and fell flat on the grass again. I could see a married couple coming out of this house, just to enjoy the evening or something. I thought very hard, trying to create a spell to turn myself into a cat, and it worked, plus I created another cat as well, a real one, so I could copy its mannerisms. Plus my parents might be suspicious of one stray cat (as they were missing one stray daughter) as opposed to two. And both cats looked the same, orange and yellow striped short-haired tabbies. I don't think I was supposed to know how to use magic, that they'd forbidden it to me, but it was in my blood. Thinking about it now, I probably had massive untapped power I knew little about.
There was a tree in the yard and the couple was standing by it now. I went straight up to them and acted very friendly and meowed, looking for sympathy. We're just a couple of stray cat's looking for love. *meow* Adopt us!<3 My parents pulled up in the car and asked these people if they'd seen a girl wandering around lost. They also expressed suspicion about the cats, asking where they'd come from because they did look like newly arrived strays. Meanwhile I did kitty things like lick my paw and rub up against the tree. The couple said they knew nothing and the cats were just cats (possibly even claimed them as their own, because I got the impression the couple thought my parents a bit rude) and my parents left.
I turned back into a human and told them who I was and that I needed their help. (I think the other cat was unsummoned as well.) They led me inside the house to their living room and sat me down on the couch, sitting on either side of me, the man was on the right. I told them I was opressed and mistreated at home and the lady said something like, "Oh, I'm sure your parents are just trying to do what's best for you and they're worried sick about you, we should make sure you get back to them as soon as possible." She was rising as if to go call them but the husband said, "Now wait a minute, maybe the girl is right, we should let her speak." It was like the woman had a general faith in humanity being good, and the guy was more of a skeptic.
I knew then the easiest way to prove my plight (right then, like I'd forgotten it or it was so commonplace for me). I told them to look at my back, and it's like the bodice of my nightgown was fitted and had a zipper running down the back of it. The lady pulled the zipper down and they saw that my back had cuts in it, some long and some short. Some of the cuts looked very fresh (but clean, not bloody) and there was evidence of scars from many wounds past. Now both people were horrified at my treatment, and I knew I was safe with them and they would help me leave my old life behind.
Then I woke up.

Lucid dream: scissors and golden hair
Jul. 21st, 2005 06:02 pmI was with a little girl, and it seemed like she was a very close friend even though she was so young. She might have been about seven or eight years old. I was my normal age (27). I'm not sure where we came from or what we'd been doing, but somewhere in the dream I posted just before this I had gotten scissors from my Mom, and I was playing with them. I remember they were little sewing kit type scissors, two metal pieces of the right shape connected by a single tiny screw, which was rather loose. I wanted to fix them so they cut better, and managed to take the screw off. I put the pieces back together wrong, and put the screw back on. After fiddling with it some more I finally fixed the darn thing and got the screw snuggly in place. I'm not really sure where I was while I was doing all this.
The part I do remember very well was arriving back at the little girl's room in her parents' house, as if I'd been there before and was staying there for a while. I think there were a lot of people staying in the house, sort of a family reunion or something (but in reality nobody I know in real life was there, but in the dream it made sense). Anyways, the little girl's room was laid out like the following diagram:
It was bed time, in fact I think it was way beyond bedtime, and we'd been in bed talking for a while. Apparently I was sleeping in the same bed as the little girl, which didn't seem weird in the dream. I still had the scissors I'd gotten from Mom. Either I or the girl found a loose strand of hair and I cut it. Then I found a very long strand of golden hair, it was really pretty yet really odd. It was thicker than normal hair, almost like thread. And it honestly looked like gold. I was thinking it must be from something or someone special (I was thinking of an elf, like Galadriel in The Lord of the Rings), and both of us were a little afraid that we had something like this in our posession. I was thinking about cutting it but something felt wrong with that idea, like it would bring some sort of danger upon us.
Then the hair was tied together at the ends, I don't remember doing that. Did it do it on its own? Now that it was a loop, I looped it back on itself until it was three or four loops, and the whole thing was much smaller now that it was looped more. I then held all the loops together by pulling it tight between my fingers and twisting it so that it made a thick cord. I told the little girl to cut it while I held it so that it didn't fall apart. She didn't seem sure about this, I think we'd discussed that it seemed a bad idea to cut it. But I think we knew we'd set something in motion and we were gonna have to go through with it. I also remember thinking I should be the one cutting it, but I let her do it. It didn't cut completely through in one snip, it sort of frayed weirdly. But after a couple more snips it cut through.
I said something like, "Alright, we've completed your spell, do what you will," to the air in general, thinking that whatever wanted us to do this thing would hear me. Nothing happened at all for a few moments. Then we heard very slow, soft thuds coming from the hallway behind the closed bedroom door. The little girl got very scared and I held her tight and watched the door from behind the headboard. I stared at the doorknob, which was a normal gold-colored doorknob, waiting for it to start turning. Even though it was shiny I was confident that I could see it turn, plus I thought it might shake very slightly when touched (I knew it was slightly loose).
I noticed at this point that the pattern on the door was a sort of latticework of wood that'd been made into a diagonal crossing pattern inside squares, a vaguely oriental look (this pattern came from the Splinter Cell Chinese Embassy levels). Then suddenly the doorknob had a very similar pattern on it, but just one square with the diagonals crossing inside it. Plus it had changed to a sort of cream color, like it was made of ivory or enamel. At least now I would know for sure when somebody turned it. And it was at this moment that I realized I was dreaming. But in my lucid moment I decided to wait and see what happened, as the dream plot seemed interesting enough without messing with it just yet. So I sat there holding the girl and staring at the doorknob.
The doorknob started to turn. Then the door whooshed open fast and I and the little girl screamed really loud (and I promptly forgot I was dreaming). But it turned out to be a guy who was staying at the house, and the girl's mother. The guy was a cop of some sort. He said something like, "What's wrong?" We apologized fast saying that we were scared it was someone or something else at the door. He accepted that and said he was there to take the little girl with him on some sort of bust because the police department did that sometimes as some sort of... educational thing? I have no clue now, but in the dream it made sense, in that I knew it was a normal thing, although I didn't feel it was very safe, even if they said it was.
The girl's mother seemed to be very pleased that her daughter had been chosen to go this time. But the girl didn't really seem to want to go, I think she wanted to be with me. There was still the thought of the golden hair and whatever cutting it might have done. And it was like the adults expected her to accept the invitation to go on the police thing, as if not wanting to go would be a horrifically outlandish thought. I'm not sure if she said she would go or not.
I don't remember any more.

I drew the pillow in there to help illustrate. The bed had a wooden headboard as well, and I think there was a footboard on the window side of the room.)

Finger licking good
Jun. 21st, 2005 06:27 pmA strange title for a strange dream. It started in a canyon-ish cave system, kind of like the red rock area in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade where the hidden temple was at the end of the movie. It seems like I and some companions were hiding, but I don't remember what from. I found this smallish critter that had a really fat body but was very agile, and it climbed all over me. I was worried because it was a wild animal and wasn't sure what it was going to do. It seemed quite taken with me though, and when it reached my face, it started licking my lips like there was no tomorrow. At least it wasn't trying to kill me... it was almost like a mother trying to wash a kid's face. I managed to get the thing off my face and it contented itself with a deathgrip on my hand and licked my fingers instead. Guess it thought I needed a bath.
The next thing I remember was later in the dream, don't know what happened to the licking-happy critter. I was standing in a stone courtyard that appeared to be in disrepair. My brother Jamie was there, and we found a turtle near a round stone fountain that was set in the middle of the courtyard. The turtle was all green, like he had been dyed or painted, and the color itself seemed to inhibit the turtle's movements. Then his shell started to fall apart, it came off entirely and broke into pieces. Either me or Jamie put them back on and they seemed to refit together and begin healing. I think we left the turtle on the ledge by the water, afraid that putting him in the water would mess with his shell.
Then I remember playing EverQuest, as my dwarf warrior, but it was like I was really in the game. I was killing stuff by myself for fun, I remember being in a cave dungeon (I though it was a redone version of Sol B if anyone plays the game and knows the reference) and I killed three orcs. They considered green (easy fight, no experience), light blue (fairly easy), and green (but the last one still gave me experience, which happens rarely in EverQuest). The loot on the first one was a +75 mana necklace that looked like the platinum sapphire necklace in the game. I was very happy to find that, because the odds were good that it was way more mana than the necklaces on most of my caster characters, if not all of them. The second orc's loot was one spikey shoulder pad armor piece, I remember thinking it must be fairly new but it was probably crap even though it looked cool. I took it.
The last orc had a couple more pieces of the funky spikey armor, and also a complete set of white cloth armor obviously designed for a wizard. In fact there was a hat in the set that looked kinda Gandalf-ish, but more like the wizard hats from Final Fantasy XI (or the one Black Mage wears in various FF games). I was thinking the stuff may not be worth hauling around because it would take up a lot of inventory space and I was sure it wasn't worth much... but then I thought I'd make a new character, a wizard. I'd make Kaesora (my multipurpose roleplay character, she's an albino elven sorceress) and she'd be fun to dork around with since there was actually some all-white gear I could put on her (in my stories her normal outfit is white).
So I had just finished deciding to take all the loot when I heard some friends yelling at me, they wanted me to come play with them, so I should meet them at the entrance to the dungeon. I thought I knew the way... I jumped down further into the dungeon and ended up on the goblin side (apparently there were two factions ruling this dungeon, orcs on one side and goblins on the other). Crap! I knew this meant I'd gone the wrong way, and the stuff on this end was higher level.
The dream gets sort of fuzzy here, it seems like I met up with my friends just in time to fight some sort of big boss monster. But now the game changed and it was a quasi-table-top RPG, but we were still actually IN the game. Like, little people moving along a messed up chessboard-like playing area. I knew we were on a table though. Some pieces of the chessboard stuff floated here and there by themselves. We used the squares marked out by the chessboard pattern to count how far we could move each turn. And if you pushed a bad guy off the board and onto the floor, they'd die and not come back.
I made it to the big boss's area, which was half way between the floor and the table (I jumped down to get there). My buddies were trying to make it to me, and I remember Jamie rolling dice and hitting the boss (so he was now part of the game). The boss lost a bunch of pieces of himself, he was sort of a weird 3D bubble man thing. As the other parts of his body slowly came back towards him, all that was there at the moment was his torso. I was now Kaesora, the version I'd been planning to make for EverQuest, and it's like when we started the table-top RPG we'd all chosen mid-level characters instead of starting at level 1, sort of a test run for later games.
I used an ice spell against the boss. I rolled a bunch of dice (and I mean a bunch) and I remember some of them were pink. My total roll was 57. Then we had to look up the rules to figure out what my spell had hit for... and eventually figured out I had to multiply my roll by 105. Dang, nice hit! But right then the boss pushed me off the board, and I fell. I remember hitting the floor and dying, my body got all tingly and faded away and I remember what I could see faded to black. But I wasn't worried because it was like I had several lives (like a video game) or maybe even indefinite lives, and that I'd be respawning on the board, but probably back at the beginning, on the far side of the table from the boss fight.
Then I woke up.

fantasy journey
May. 26th, 2005 02:36 amI dreamed I was a sorceress of some sort, human I think. It was night time. I was walking through a fantasy/medieval town that was guarded by a fort. There were candles all along the main road, and they weren't just for light, they were wards against evil. Suddenly they all went out. I snapped my fingers and they all came back on with my magic. But then they went out again! I snapped my fingers again and brought them back, but I knew something had to be very wrong for the candles to be going out like this. They were going out AGAIN as I neared the fort and was planning on leaving the area to go find out what was going on.
I neared the fort gates, the only exit from the town, and I met up with a guy who was my friend, a sort of knight protector kinda guy. I somehow knew my mission was going to be so dangerous I didn't want to get anyone else involved. I told him I was leaving and he said I couldn't, that it was too dangerous outside. I went invisible and found a way to climb over the fort gates (they were closed). The guy kept following me, trying to guess where I was going, he just wouldn't leave me alone. He said if I was gonna go at least take him with me. So in the end we left together on a couple of horses.
Then I woke up.
