(Please note this is a dream just in case it isn't obvious enough. This is in no way a review or actual event description of any Soom products, service, or shipping, nor does it reflect those aspects of any other doll company. I haven't had a doll dream in ages, and then suddenly this nonsense hits. O.o;; )

In reality, I run the Soom 2012 Teenie Gem free choice event waiting room list at the Den of Angels doll forum. This dream took that concept, but turned it into a huge group order, and apparently almost everyone in the group order lived in the same area I did. Also, it wasn't a mix and match MD event but some kind of very last Teenie Gem MD doll that came out just before Soom stopped doing monthly dolls. I remember the names of the two dolls (boy and girl versions) were something close to Trachy and Lami but that wasn't it.

The big day of the mass order arriving had come, and some of the girls who had ordered with me were there to open the boxes. It wasn't a typical box opening, like everyone figuring out whose doll box was whose. There weren't even individual doll boxes, just a bunch of dolls and clothes packed in generic square-ish shipping boxes. This didn't strike me as odd in the dream somehow.

There didn't seem to be any organization to the stuff in the boxes, dolls and fantasy parts and clothing strewn all over. The dolls and fantasy parts were at least wrapped in bubble wrap. When I unwrapped the bubble wrap from a random doll, I was shocked by the faceup. Mind you, the doll's face was vinyl instead of resin (and I didn't actually notice that as being wrong until after waking up), and looked like it might have been a sleeping or no-eyes version of a mini DDung doll, with just a smooth area where the eyes were meant to be painted on, and a small point for the nose.

The faceup looked like it had been drawn on with either permanent marker or generic felt-tipped pen. Not only that, but it was done in an extremely messy style, which one could either call "kindergartener" or "someone trying to be reeeally artsy and hoping it flies." One of the other girls was looking at the doll with me, I think she was supposed to be geishacookie from the forum (dream made up what she looked like xD ). I said, "This can't be right... I'm going to look up the faceups on the site." I was so shocked about receiving the doll like that, that I was starting to doubt my own memory of what we ordered, even though I vaguely remembered cute Soom faceups and open eyes.

This also got me thinking, as I was trying to navigate the dream version of Soom's site (which was pretty nuts and didn't make much sense), that the dolls had sleeping heads and normal, open-eyed heads. Why was the sleeping head on one of the dolls by default? Were there more like this? I finally found the right page for the dolls we'd ordered, except it was broken down into a menu system that was missing the main pictures page. I found that a bit fishy, but finally found one of the main pictures after a little more searching.

The dolls looked like proper dolls on the site (and what my dream-memory said they should look like). The boy one was light blue and the girl one was light pink. The doll I'd opened was pretty much white, but I didn't actually notice that problem at the time (just went "wtf" after waking up). The pictures also showed the clothes, which was good because the other girls were trying to sort through the boxes and match up clothing items for the fullsets. Each fullset doll had two outfits, and for some reason a couple of my own random Yo-SD doll clothes and some 1/6 Obitsu-type shoes had gotten mixed in with everything on the floor where the sorting was taking place.

I didn't seem to reach any sort of definite conclusion about the faceups yet, distracted by going over to help sort the doll stuff some more. I had a bad feeling we were missing dolls and probably clothing, and yet this was supposed to be the whole shipment. I remember picking a red sheer-fabric jacket out of the clothing mess that was one of my non-Soom pieces, and a black lacy shirt of some sort. My kid sister showed up out of the blue and made a joke about the 1/6 Obitsu shoes, which were mostly black boots now in a Ziplock bag (they hadn't been before). I don't remember what she said, only that it was funny and possibly sarcastic, considering the mess the group order was turning out to be.

Then I woke up.

I was searching online for something, I'm not really sure what anymore except it had to do with something fantasy-related. I found a fantasy roleplay forum and started looking through it out of vague curiosity, and realized it might have died at some point and nobody had posted to it in forever. There were different sections and it seemed like the further I looked the more recent things got, to a point where people were currently using it but the roleplay had changed to something unrelated to the original forum's purpose, but still vaguely fantasy related, with more of an emphasis on some kind of very colorful, bouncy anime.

I logged into AIM for a moment. (In real life I recently installed it again after avoiding it for a while due to spyware-like qualities in the last version I tried on another PC.) Suddenly I had three chat windows of incoming messages, all usernames I was unfamiliar with. I thought for a moment it might have to do with an RP I am working on applying to (again, in real life), but no, it appears they had nothing to do with that. A vague idea was that it was somehow related to the fantasy RP/forum I'd been surfing, but no, the right-most chat window (relating to the tabs on my Windows taskbar) was a girl talking about some sort of MMORPG she was playing. All three chats seemed to relate to this, but the chick on the right was pretty much ignoring anything I said.

I was having a real hard time typing (duh, now I realize it's cuz it was a dream) but I was actually able to communicate with the people chatting with me, just seemed to have a lot of typo issues. I told at least two of them I was apparently having keyboard issues. (Also, I could read the chat text fine as well as the stuff I had been looking at on the forums. This is pretty unusual for my dream states.) The one on the far left was another girl, and the chat in the middle was some guy who didn't say much. Through talking to the girl on the left I learned that I had been mistaken for the coder of this game all three of them were playing. (It sounded like an oldschool cartoony fantasy thing, think later Kings Quest games.) Apparently I had the same screen name as this coder person (who I think was a guy, and apparently much looked up to by the game players) and he'd stopped using it probably ages ago and deleted it or whatever and I'd ended up with it by chance (I did just get a new AIM username in real life).

So I was trying to tell them all I wasn't the person they thought, really had no interest in checking out this game and honestly knew nothing about it, nor did I have any advice or useful things to say to the chick on the right who seemed to be looking for some tips in between comments like "OMG vampires have mind flay?? No way!!". Mind Flay was apparently some sort of skill or power in the game, sounded like it was monster-only (and nasty monster at that).

Then I thought I woke up from this dream, but actually just ended up in another dream (this one, friends-only).

The rest of the dream was stupid (and somewhat nightmarish) but a weird and funny part at the end is worth mentioning. Justin Timberlake showed up at my door and said he needed a place to stay, due to money troubles. Although I am no fan of him or his current music career, I said sure, it was okay. He came into the house but then he seemed upset by a computer I had set up to play music in a hallway. I said, "Not a computer person, eh?" and he was like "You've got that right" and proceeded to say I was some sorta major computer guru/geek or something.

Then I woke up.

I dreamed a whole lot of stuff as if I was a new character in the NBC TV show Heroes. I was the one who was going to draw all the main characters together somehow. All the people with special powers. But I've since forgotten the rest except that I did find at least one or two of the people and at one point I saw a computer screen that had a repeating/scrolling letter and number sequence (one of the other characters was there too). It was either MM0000 or MM3333 or perhaps both. Sometimes it was black letters on white for each part of the sequence, and other times white letters on black. It was also smallish letters in a text box kinda interface, like posting a message on a message board (or creating an entry here at LiveJournal) but I hadn't typed it and it's not like you could change it. Someone else had made it. And it was very, very important for figuring out what was going on.

That's all I remember.

I was in some sort of building, maybe a government or tech building. There were other people, this was some sort of tour I think. It was the sort of place where the walls and ceiling weren't finished properly. There was a switch on the wall, and a big opening next to it where you could see a room full of computers and people working. A pink/fushia or maybe red post-it-note sign was by the switch (looked like a light switch) that said "master line" in blue writing (probably marker) and I thought if this was switched off that it'd kill all the lights in the building (not just that area or that room), or maybe kill the power to everything, not just the lights. But the weird thing was that I noticed the switch was in the down position. That would usually mean "off."

The hallway in which I was in had some shelves and a table with stuff on it. There were two orange cats, one on one of the shelves and the other on the table. I asked if the cats were friendly and whoever was leading the tour (or knew what they were talking about) said they were. I approached the one on the table and put my hand out and it definitely was friendly, so I petted it. Then suddenly it put it's paw on the back of my wrist and stuck it's claws into me, and I let go and the cat wandered off. That hurt... stupid cat.

Then I woke up.

This dream is really quite fuzzy now but I was so enthused with it last night that I even dreamed about verbally figuring out all the right words for the events that happened, with the thought of posting it here. Too bad I can't remember most of what I came up with... so here goes nothing.

I was playing the XBox game Halo 2, except I was actually in it. I remember talking to Dad about the game, as if he was watching. I was in a big huge room that was very dark and had these long, thin platforms to run on, high up off the floor. Falling would certainly cause death. I knew the end of the level was soon, but I wanted a better weapon because I was almost out of ammunition for the one I had, and I could see a really cool weapon up ahead (I think it was supposed to be a rail gun). I had a choice, I could follow the correct platform to the end of the level, or I could take a different turn really quickly and pick up this other weapon. Plus I was moving very slowly for some reason, and I knew that there was a "speed up" item along the same path as the weapon.

So I decided to go for the weapon and the speed increasing item. I just hit the speed thing when I noticed that my timer had only a couple seconds left on it (apparently if you ran out of time on a level you would die, like in Mario Brothers). So I died and I was so annoyed, but this time I knew I'd skip the whole picking up the extra weapon thing and just finish the level. I reloaded the game (yeah, I was still in it this whole time, I don't remember seeing the game on any sort of television screen) and found that it had automatically saved my progress back at the point where I'd picked up the speed item. Except now the speed item wasn't there, nor was the other weapon. Apparently they wouldn't respawn because I'd picked them up in the previous game, even though I'd lost them to dying.

I had tons of time on my timer now, however, so I took the right path/platform thingy to the end of the level. The next part was a sort of warehouse room and I saw spots of Flood on the wall (if you haven't played the Halo series, Flood is a nasty virus that turns people and aliens into freakish monsters). Then I found a computer on a desk and was thinking I should see if I could find any files on what had been going on at the warehouse... when a lady in a white lab coat asked me what I was doing. (This is where it started feeling like Half Life, a PC game.) Apparently this was her workstation, and she worked here. I was surprised to find anybody alive at this point, as I was sure the virus would have killed everyone off or turned them into mutants.

I said I was there to stop the virus or try, and asked her why she was still there, working as if nothing was going on. She said she had no idea there was anything wrong, that her company hadn't informed her of any such virus outbreak. She did seem to believe me but she didn't want to leave, so I told her to be very careful and to try and contact me if something went wrong in her area. (I have no clue *how* she was supposed to contact me, but it made sense in the dream). I left her and headed for the door to the next level.

Then I woke up.
